Product Information

Name:
Cbz-L-tert-leucine
Synonyms:
  • 3-Methyl-N-[(phenylmethoxy)carbonyl]-L-valineN-Carbobenzoxy-(S)-tert-leucine2S-Benzyloxycarbonylamino-3,3-dimethylbutyric acid
  • L-valine, 3-methyl-N-[(phenylmethoxy)carbonyl]-
  • N-[(Benzyloxy)carbonyl]-3-methyl-L-valine
  • Z-Tle-OH
Description:

Cbz-L-tert-Leucine is an enantiopure β-amino acid that has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth. It binds to the enzyme deformylase, which is involved in the synthesis of leucine, and prevents the formation of L-leucine. This inhibition results in a decrease in bacterial activity and has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. Cbz-L-tert-Leucine can also be used as an inhibitor for other β-amino acids.
