8-Chloroisoquinoline is a synthetic, organic compound that is used in the synthesis of other organic compounds. 8-Chloroisoquinoline has been shown to inhibit cancer cells by reacting with DNA and preventing it from replicating. The reaction solution consists of anhydrous sodium acetylacetonate, esophageal ligand, sulfate and palladium-catalyzed coupling. This reaction is then followed by the addition of the sulfoxide and formylation.
