Description

Coenzyme Q10 is a coenzyme that is involved in the electron transport chain and participates in energy metabolism. It has been shown to be effective in preventing neuronal death caused by oxidative stress. Coenzyme Q10 also has a synergic effect with other drugs, such as the monoethyl ether of coenzyme Q10. The analytical method for measuring coenzyme Q10 levels is based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection. Coenzyme Q10 levels are usually determined by sampling blood plasma or serum samples.
