Description:

N-(p-Coumaroyl) serotonin is a reactive compound found in the plant Carthamus tinctorius. It has shown potential for use as an anticancer agent due to its ability to decrease the mitochondrial membrane potential and increase the surface methodology of cancer cells. N-(p-Coumaroyl) serotonin also has anti-inflammatory effects and has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and hydroxyl group production in rat liver microsomes.
