It has an antiproliferative activity and is water-soluble. 7-Coumaryl triflate is also used as a reactive compound in organic synthesis. 7-Coumaryl triflate reacts with phenyl rings, which are found in many compounds, including resveratrol and lead compounds. The fluorescence of this compound can be quenched by oxygen species or hydroxyl groups.
