Description

Fluoxastrobin is a broad-spectrum triazole fungicide. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of a wide range of fungal strains, including Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Aspergillus fumigatus. Fluoxastrobin is also effective against bacteria that cause acne, rosacea and sinusitis. This drug inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids by binding to the enzyme acyl coenzyme A reductase, which is required for the biosynthesis of fatty acids in fungi and plants. In addition, fluoxastrobin has been shown to have an antitumor response in cells that are activated by mitogen or phorbol ester treatment.
