Description:
Carbon tetraiodide is a synthetic chemical that is used as a reactive molecule for the preparation of polymeric matrices. It reacts with halogen compounds and coumarin derivatives to form polymeric materials. Carbon tetraiodide can also be used as a gas sensor, due to its ability to react with chloride, an aromatic hydrocarbon, and an ethyl group (C2H5). Carbon tetraiodide has been shown to have a frequency shift in the NMR spectra at a chemical shift of p2.
