Description

Chloromethylated polystyrene is a polymer that contains a hydroxyl group and a disulfide bond. It can be used to synthesize an asymmetric synthesis of the borane-tetrahydrofuran complex, which is an important reagent in organic synthesis. In this reaction, trifluoroacetic acid reacts with hydrogen fluoride to produce chloromethylated polystyrene.
