EX 527 is a peptide substrate that interacts with coenzyme Q10. It has been shown to activate SIRT1, an enzyme that regulates the activity of other proteins and plays an important role in cellular metabolism, leading to improved mitochondrial function, reduced inflammation and oxidative stress, and increased cell survival. When EX 527 was administered to mice, it was found to increase the expression of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor α7 (nAChRα7), which is associated with experimental cancer treatments. In addition, EX 527 has been shown to have therapeutic effects on kidney injury and skin cancer when combined with srt1720 treatment.
