Description:Cloquintocet is a quinoline derivative that is used as an herbicide. It inhibits the transport of fatty acids and other lipids by binding to the lipid biosynthesis enzyme acyl-CoA synthase, which prevents the formation of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. The phenoxy group in this molecule also has a synergistic effect with fatty acids, increasing its toxicity to plants. Cloquintocet has been shown to be effective against herbicide resistant weeds such as glyphosate-resistant weeds. This compound also inhibits plant growth by affecting plant physiology and inhibiting photosynthesis.
