Product Information
- CyclopropanethiocarboxaMide
Cyclopropanecarbothioamide is a chemical inhibitor that inhibits the activity of bacterial dehydrogenase. It has been shown to have antibacterial properties against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other bacteria, including human liver pathogens. Cyclopropanecarbothioamide is also used in the treatment of depression and Alzheimer's disease. It acts as an allosteric modulator by binding to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and glutaminyl cyclases, which are enzymes involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and other chemicals in the body. This drug has shown promise as a possible treatment for parasiticides, such as malaria, because it inhibits parasite-induced production of nicotinic acetylcholine.
