Product Information

Name:
4-Chloro-7-hydroxyquinoline
Synonyms:
  • 4-Chloroquinolin-7-Ol
Description:

4-Chloro-7-hydroxyquinoline is a quinoline derivative that has shown potential as an antitumor agent. It activates transcription of tumor suppressor genes and causes apoptosis in cancer cells. 4-Chloro-7-hydroxyquinoline has been found to be effective against several human cancer cell lines, including prostate, breast, and lung cancer cells, but not against normal cell lines. This drug also shows antiproliferative properties in vivo. In a xenograft model using mice, 4-chloro-7-hydroxyquinoline inhibited tumor growth and reduced the size of tumors by 75% after six weeks of treatment. The drug also showed potent antiproliferative activity on human tumor cell lines.
