Product Information
7-Chloroquinoline is a compound that has been shown to induce apoptotic cell death in cells. It induces apoptosis by binding to the amp-activated protein kinase, which regulates a number of cellular functions, including transcription and translation. 7-Chloroquinoline has been shown to have anticancer activity against skin cancer cells and also inhibits the growth of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This drug can be prepared in high yields from 7-chloroquinolinamine by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid. The bound form of 7-chloroquinoline has been shown to inhibit trichomonas vaginalis growth and induce cell death in these bacteria.
