Product Information
Name:3-Chloro-L-tyrosine
Synonyms:
- 3-Chloro-L-Tyr-OH 3-Chloro-4-hydroxy-L-phenylalanine
Brand:Biosynth
Description:3-Chloro-L-tyrosine (3CT) is a reactive, nitrogen containing molecule that has been used as a model system to study oxidative injury in the heart. The molecule reacts with the air and oxygen in the environment, producing reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can cause oxidative injury. 3CT has been shown to inhibit ATP binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1), which is involved in cholesterol efflux from macrophages. 3CT also promotes the release of eosinophil peroxidase from eosinophils and induces tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). The analytical method for 3CT includes liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
