Description:
4-Chlorobutyl acetate is a colorless liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used as an intermediate for the production of other chemicals such as calcium stearate, which is used in the manufacture of rubber and plastics. 4-Chlorobutyl acetate also has anticancer activity, with high values being observed for the product obtained by reacting magnesium with chlorine in propionate. The synthesis methods are not fully understood, but it may be generated by reacting chloride with magnesium or magnesium chloride in methylene chloride. This compound also has functional groups like chlorine and chloro-substituents.
