Description:

Cesium iodide is a scintillator that is used in radiation detection. Cesium iodide has a high light emission efficiency, which is proportional to the particle flux. Cesium iodide can be activated by laser ablation, producing light that can be detected by photomultiplier tubes or optical sensors. The activation process of cesium iodide with laser ablation requires an energy input of about 10-100 microjoules per square millimeter. The radiation detector based on cesium iodide can detect gamma rays, neutrons, and x-rays with high sensitivity and fast response time.
