The crystal x-ray diffraction study revealed that 3-chlorobenzhydrazide forms a hydrogen bond with hydroxyl groups of amino acids in proteins. This property makes it an effective antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococci and Mycobacteria tuberculosis.
