Description:

C3-Chloropropyltriethoxysilane is a reactive functional group that can be used as a catalyst. It has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of polysiloxanes, which are useful for skin cancer therapy. C3-Chloropropyltriethoxysilane is synthesized by the reaction of anhydrous sodium and ethylene diamine with hydrochloric acid. The methylamine reacts with ethylene diamine to form C3-chloropropyltriethoxysilane and water. This reaction proceeds via an S2 mechanism, which involves the formation of a reactive intermediate that reacts with ethylenediamine to form C3-chloropropyltriethoxysilane and HCl gas.
