Description:

2-Chloro-4-fluorophenol is a chlorinating agent that is used to produce tetranuclear chlorophenols. It reacts with organic solvents, such as carbon tetrachloride, to form chlorinated products. 2-Chloro-4-fluorophenol can also be used to chlorinate other organic compounds such as amides and dipole molecules in the presence of chloride ions. The reaction rate depends on the concentration of reactants and reaction temperature, which can be controlled by adding hydrochloric acid or piperonyl butoxide.
