- Crassicauline I
Crassicauline A is a diterpenoid alkaloid isolated from the roots of Aconite verna. Crassicauline A has immunomodulatory effects and can be used to treat gastrointestinal toxicities. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of hepg2 cells, which are cells that have been infected with HIV-1. Crassicauline A binds to human serum albumin and inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit. The hydrogen bond in crassicauline A's skeleton is responsible for its high affinity for proteins.
