This inhibition leads to an increase in epidermal growth factor and a decrease in malonic acid. Cyclohexylacetic acid also inhibits microbial metabolism by preventing the conversion of nitrogen atoms into ammonia, which can cause cardiac arrest or sublethal doses. The effects of cyclohexylacetic acid on coronary heart disease have not been determined because it is not commercially available for purchase.
