Description:
CongmunosideV is a saponin isolated from the roots of the congmyrna plant. It has been shown to have neuroprotective and neurodegenerative disease-related effects in animal studies, including regression of brain tumor cells. CongmunosideV also inhibits the synthesis of acetonitrile and hydrogen peroxide-induced apoptosis in human erythrocytes, as well as acetonitrile-induced cytosolic protein degradation. Furthermore, it has antiviral effects against HIV and influenza A virus.
