Coniferyl ferulate is a monolignol that is found in the most abundant amounts in the leaves of Angelica Dahurica. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as inhibitory effects on mitochondrial membrane potential. This compound has also been shown to have receptor activity, which may be due to its structural similarity to ligustilide. Coniferyl ferulate has been identified using a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method. The chemical stability of this compound makes it an excellent analytical target for the identification of other compounds with similar properties.
