Description:
4-(4'-Carboxyphenyl)piperidine is a vasoconstrictor drug that is a member of the class of statins. It has been shown to have the ability to block the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver and inhibit the production of hydrogen peroxide by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. 4-(4'-Carboxyphenyl)piperidine is used as an excipient in atorvastatin calcium, an anti-cholesterol drug, which is an amorphous white powder.
