Description:CBMIT is an imidazolium peptide coupling reagent efficient with sterically hindered amino acids. When CBMIT is used in combination with CuCl2 or Cu(OTf)2, no racemisation is observed. CBMIT is a derivative of CDI, obtained by bis-methylating CDI with methyl triflate and can be used in a similar way in a one-pot procedure. CBMIT is moisture sensitive and requires the use of a polar solvent such as nitromethane.
