- 8-Quinolinecarboxamide
Quinoline-8-carboxamide is a synthetic compound that was developed for the treatment of colon cancer. It is an amide derivative of 5-iodo-2'-deoxyuridine, and has been shown to be cytotoxic to human colon carcinoma cells in vitro. Quinoline-8-carboxamide has also been shown to inhibit the synthesis of adenosine diphosphate ribose (ADP-ribose), which may be related to its ability to induce apoptosis. Quinoline 8-carboxamide is undergoing Phase II/III clinical trials for the treatment of colorectal cancer.
