Description:
3,4-Difluoroaniline is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that has been shown to be effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Clostridium difficile. This compound has been synthesized by reacting malonic acid with 3,4-difluorobenzene in the presence of hydrogen fluoride and hydrochloric acid. The synthesis involves a diazonium salt intermediate that is subsequently reacted with a chloride ion.
