2,6-Dichloro-1,4-phenylenediamine (2,6-DCPP) is a chemical compound that has significant cytotoxicity. It is known to enhance the cytotoxicity of other chemicals and has been used in combination with piperonyl butoxide for its enhancement properties. 2,6-DCPP has been shown to cause statistically significant pancreatic cancer in rats at high doses. The carcinogenic potential of this chemical is not yet clear because it does not appear to be toxic at nontoxic doses. 2,6-DCPP also causes an increase in chloride ions in tissues and may have potential as a drug delivery system for sodium succinate.
