N-(3,5-Dichloro-4-Pyridinyl)-2-[1-(4-Fluorobenzyl)-5-Hydroxy-1H-Indol-3-Yl]-2-Oxoacetamide is a prodrug that is metabolized to the active form in vivo. It inhibits the activity of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE), an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of cAMP to AMP and PDE, which catalyzes the conversion of cGMP to GMP. This drug has been shown to have a potent inhibitory effect on inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα.
