• Description: 2,4-Diaminopyrimidine is a potent inhibitor of protein kinases with selectivity for ATP-dependent enzymes. It inhibits the activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). The effectiveness of 2,4-diaminopyrimidine against colorectal adenocarcinoma cells has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo. The drug has been shown to inhibit EGFR phosphorylation and downstream signaling pathways, which may be responsible for its ability to induce apoptosis in these cancer cells. 2,4-Diaminopyrimidine has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines.
