Description:H-6-Diazo-5-oxo-D-Nle-OH is a maleate analog of D-Nle. Maleates are covalent inhibitors of transpeptidase, an enzyme that catalyses the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids. This inhibition affects the physiological function of tumour cells and can be used for the treatment of tumours. Maleates also have affinity for glutathione molecules, which may lead to a decrease in their concentration in the cell and cause a decrease in their protective effects.
