Description

Dansyl chloride is a fluorescent labeling chemical that can be used for the detection of proteins. It reacts with amines and form dansyl-amides. Dansyl chloride has been used in chromatographic analysis, analytical methods, and biological samples. The reactivity of dansyl chloride with amino acids depends on the matrix effect and the pH of the environment. Dansyl chloride has shown to bind DNA in a concentration dependent manner and its fluorescence changes depending on the binding site.
