Description

2,2-Dimethyl-3-(2-oxopropyl)cyclopropyl]acetonitrile is a monomer used to produce polyurethanes. It has a synergistic effect with other materials such as polyvinyl chloride and benzyl. 2,2-Dimethyl-3-(2-oxopropyl)cyclopropyl]acetonitrile is obtained by reacting with chlorine at high temperatures. The compound can also be synthesized by reacting propionate with α-pinene and dibutyltin chloride. This monomer is often used as a stabilizer or solvent in the production of polyvinylchloride or polyvinylethers.
