3,5-Dibromo-1H-1,2,4-triazole is a synthetic chemical that belongs to the peroxide family. It is a colorless crystalline solid with a melting point of about 54°C. 3,5-Dibromo-1H-1,2,4-triazole has been shown to react with phenol and form an oxidation product. The reaction products are tautomers of the original compound and pyrazoles. 3,5-Dibromo-1H-1,2,4-triazole has been shown to give hydrogen bonds with nucleophiles in solution. This chemical also undergoes alkylation reactions with nitrogen atoms and reacts at low temperatures (below -78°C) to form nmr spectra.
