Description:

6,8-Diprenylnaringenin (6,8-DPA) is a polyphenol that is found in many plants. It inhibits the growth of infectious bacteria by binding to and inhibiting bacterial enzymes. 6,8-DPA has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the activation of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1b (PTP1B) and its downstream effects on energy metabolism and metabolic disorders. It also has antioxidant properties. 6,8-DPA may be used as a dietary supplement for women because it can increase levels of estradiol in postmenopausal women and improve estrogenic activity in ovariectomized rats.
