Description:3,5-Dimethylphenylboronic acid is a diluent that is used in organic synthesis. It is also a low-energy reagent for cross-coupling reactions, such as Suzuki coupling reactions. The reaction occurs by the addition of organoboron compounds, such as 4-tert-butylphenylboronic acid, to 3,5-dimethylphenylboronic acid in the presence of palladium complexes and hydrochloric acid. The product can be isolated by the addition of an acid solution. This compound has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties and can be administered orally or topically. 3,5-Dimethylphenylboronic acid has been shown to inhibit the cb2 receptor and reduce inflammation in animal models.
