This compound has been used as a solvent for fats, oils, waxes, resins, and rubber. 4-(Dimethylamino)cyclohexanol is found in the environment as a result of its use in insecticides and herbicides. 4-(Dimethylamino)cyclohexanol has been shown to be carcinogenic in animal studies.
