Description:

2,5-Dibromopyrimidine (2,5-DBP) is a heterocyclic compound that can be used as an acceptor in cross-coupling reactions. The crystal structures of 2,5-DBP have been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. It also has photocatalytic activity and has been shown to react with 5-HT2C receptors in the brain. This compound is an organometallic compound that contains bromine and nitrogen atoms. 2,5-DBP is soluble in organic solvents such as trifluoroacetic acid and acetonitrile. 2,5-DBP decomposes at temperatures above 150°C to yield water and organic acids. This substance has a magnetic resonance spectroscopy signal at 3 ppm due to the presence of nitrogen atoms.
