Product Information
Dimethylcurcumin is a derivative of curcumin, which is a natural phenolic compound in turmeric. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of colorectal adenocarcinoma cells by inhibiting the production of growth factor-β1 and reducing the expression of transcriptional regulators. Dimethylcurcumin also exhibits antimicrobial activity and can inhibit the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). This compound has also been shown to have anti-oxidant effects on prostate cancer cells by decreasing oxidative stress and inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases. The low bioavailability and intramolecular hydrogen bonding are some limitations of this drug.
