- Quinoline, 2,4-dimethyl-
2,4-Dimethylquinoline is an organic compound that has a delaminated molecular structure. When 2,4-dimethylquinoline is exposed to acidic conditions, it undergoes oxidative alkylation and forms a xylene derivative. The 2,4-dimethylquinoline molecule is also capable of binding to the b2 receptor and has been shown to be an allosteric modulator. This compound can exist as two isomers: cis and trans. The cis isomer has high affinity for the b2 receptor while the trans isomer does not bind well to this receptor. The linear range of 2,4-dimethylquinoline spans from 0.1 to 1 mM with an affinity for the b2 receptor that increases with concentration.
