It blocks the reuptake of these neurotransmitters by binding to their transporters in the presynaptic neuron. 1-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl)piperazine also has inhibitory activity against carboxamides and docking inhibitors. This drug can be used in treatment of depression and anxiety disorders.
