3,5-Dihydroxybromobenzene (3,5-DBB) is a synthetic drug that is used as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, which are mediated by its ability to inhibit the release of nitric oxide and prostaglandins in animal models. 3,5-DBB also has affinity for the acetylcholine receptor and benzofurans. A study showed that 3,5-DBB can act as a bioisostere for other drugs such as pyridyl.
