• Description: N,N'-Dihydroxy-2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butanediamine is a solvent that is used in the synthesis of other chemicals. It is a cyclotriphosphazene with two hydroxyl groups on the nitrogen atom and one methyl group on the carbon atom. Absorption spectroscopy showed that after heating to reflux, the compound leaves a residue of 0.1%. This substance has been shown to be a good sensor for carbohydrates. The sensor can detect concentrations from 1ppm to 10% with an optimal range of 3ppm to 5%. N,N'-Dihydroxy-2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butanediamine also has high yield and synchronous transfer property. This can be done by adding an imino group onto the nitrogen atom and then reacting it with an appropriate alcohol or amine. The compound interacts with imidazolidines in this way as well
