Description:
1,6-Dibromo-2-naphthol is a chemical compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is synthesized by the reaction of 1,6-dibromo-2-naphthalene with a grignard reagent. The reaction system contains an amine and chloride as well as high concentrations of proton. This product can be used to methylate naphthalene derivatives, halophenols, and hydroxyl groups. The debromination and reductive elimination reactions are also possible with this product.
