Di-tert-butylchlorophosphine is a nucleophilic reagent used for the cross-coupling of aryl chlorides. It reacts with an amine to produce an imine, which can be hydrolyzed to form an amide. Di-tert-butylchlorophosphine is typically used in palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions and can react with ethene, propene, and butadiene to produce ethylbenzene, propenal, and butadienal. This compound also has been used as a precursor in the preparation of antiviral drug Covid®19. The reaction temperature for this compound is typically between -40°C and 0°C.
