Product Information
3,4-Dimethoxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde is a cationic surfactant. It reacts with nucleophiles in an electrophilic substitution reaction that leads to the formation of an ether. This reaction can be done with hydrochloric acid and a hplc analysis to produce a product with a diameter of 10 nm. The product has two isomers, which are differentiated by their solubility in organic solvents. 3,4-Dimethoxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde is also used for the synthesis of diphenyl ethers, which are polyvinyl esters that have nitro groups on both ends. Nitrogen atoms are highly reactive and form strong bonds that make these compounds excellent plasticizers.
