5,6-Dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyrazole-2-carboxylic acid (5,6 DHPPA) is a potent inhibitor of beta lactamase. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of beta lactamases in bacteria and human leukocytes. 5,6 DHPPA is also used as a solvent extraction agent for the isolation of polyaromatic hydrocarbons.
