Description:Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound. It has been used in toxicity studies on animals and as an analytical reagent for the detection of ammonium and chloride ions in the presence of copper chloride. Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride is also used as a disinfectant, with some reports of its use to treat infectious diseases. It has been found to have some effect on diptera larvae, but has no effect on epithelial mesenchymal cells. The phase transition temperature of this product is between -10°C and +20°C. This product can be purified by preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
