Daphneticin is a trifluoroacetic acid extract from the roots of Daphne indica. It has been shown to be effective in treating abdominal pain and bloating caused by sodium-dependent glucose transporter dysfunction, as well as inflammatory bowel disease. Daphneticin treatment also reduces the production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and insulin resistance in rats with experimental colitis. It has been shown to have a cavity prevention effect when used as a rinse after brushing teeth.
