9,10-Dihydroacridine is a monosodium salt that has been found to be an effective inhibitor of acridine dyes. 9,10-Dihydroacridine is used for the structural analysis of crystalline polymorphs and analytical chemistry in reaction mechanisms. It has been shown that this compound reacts with activated nitrogen atoms and chemiluminescent assay to produce light emission. The reaction mechanism of 9,10-dihydroacridine is similar to the mechanism of trifluoroacetic acid with reactive nitrogen atoms.
